This is a teaser edit of the Lakes Sky Ultra 2017.
Filmed and produced by MovieIt
Charlie (our creator and RD) and Angus McKendrick (Salewa UK Sales Rep) had the job of testing out some kit around the 'Edges'. Now we know this is a hard role to fill and everyone back in the office felt extremely sorry for them, but thankfully our committed camera man, Steve Ashworth; AKA MovieIt went out with them to film the experience. As you can see, it was a really tough day for them all, but ultimately someone needed to see if the Salewa kit was up to the job of the technical sections of the LSU Course.
We are happy to say, Salewa endorse Lakes Sky Ultra as a mega race with all the qualities needed for serious mountain training and of course Lakes Sky Ultra endorse Salewa's clothing and equipment to stand up to the rigours of a course like the LSU!

Charlie (our course RD) got out for a course recce of the first half of the Lakes Sky Ultra on one of the best days of the year so far. Fresh light powder snow blanketed the course to 500m, making it a little slippy in places, but good fun all the same.
The course has some technical sections, but its not all rick and scrambling by a long shot. Its full of classic Lakeland fell running routes all merged into one, with some technical ridge running and scrambling on Pinnacle Ridge thrown in for good measure to add to the awe.
For anyone not sure they cut the mustard on the technical rock sections, then book on our next training course on the 14/15 May. We have a really fun packed weekend, with Paul Tierney (4th place in 2015) and Sarah McCormack (Missing Link Fitness) who are staging a 2 hour Nat Run/NatMove session, plus we have scrambling skills, an ascent of Pinnacle Ridge, a run across Striding Edge and some other basic skills like navigation and mountain awareness/judgement.
Come and join in the fun, the course is based just at the north end of the LSU route, at the head of Glenridding.
